LA PORTE CITY - Ella Mae Klar, 78, of Rosewood Estates, Waterloo, formerly of La Porte City, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 11, 1927, in Benton County, near Dysart, daughter of Jacob and Eva A. Mengel Klar. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, La Porte City, and the La Porte City VFW Auxiliary.

Survived by several cousins and close family friends.

Preceded in death by three brothers, George, Elmer and Paul Klar; and a sister, Hazel Fleming.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Huisman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
