EVANSDALE - Harold "Harry" Jurries, 89, of Evansdale, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at ManorCare Health Services, Waterloo, of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 29, 1915, in Sherburn, Minn., son of Henry and Emma Kahler Jurries. He married Patricia Vaughn on Aug. 8, 1950, in Waverly. She died July 15, 1992.

Mr. Jurries retired from Rath Packing Co. He also was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include three sons, Harold Michael and Patrick (Sharon), both of Waterloo, and Rick (Missy) of Evansdale; four daughters, Sandra (Tim) Pryor-Even, Susan Jurries (Cornelius Walker) and Donna (Darrel) McLaury, all of Waterloo, and Ruth Jurries of Shawnee, Okla.; 10 grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, and many great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard of Dunnell, Minn.; and three sisters, Helen Sands of Alpha, Minn., Pearl Lickliter of Colton, Calif., and Ruth (John) Nena of Hartford, Ark.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Erin, John and Harry; and three sisters, Erma Laidig, Ella Duncan and Alice Locker.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Thursday at the chapel. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31.
