EVANSDALE — W.D. "Don" Jensen, 80, of Evansdale, died Sunday Jan. 11, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 27, 1923, in Voorhies, son of Carl and Mina Whannel Jensen. He married Gloria Thompson on Dec. 11, 1947, in Waterloo. She died Aug. 3,1997.

Mr. Jensen graduated from Reinbeck High School. He was a local truck driver for many years, including owner/operator of Jensen Brothers Trucking. Hu served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include six sons: Larry (Susan) of Dysart, Terry (Kathy) of Lino Lakes, Minn., William of Iowa City, Charles (Chris) of Cedar Falls, Mark of Evansdale and Michael (Nancy) Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren, Kristen (Dave) Redlinger, Allison (Joe) Carlson, Libby Jensen, Jennifer Jensen, Luke Jensen, Kara Jensen, Laura Jensen, Katie Jensen, Andrew Jensen, Mark Bond, Jackie Jensen and Jessica Jensen; four great-granddaughters, Makenzie, Makayla. Madison and Maren; two brothers, Dale of Evansdale and Richard (Barb) of Gilbertville; and two sisters, Jean (Bernie) Jensen and Maxine Beck, both of Hudson,

Preceded in death by two brothers, James and Max.

Services: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials will be directed to Visiting Nurses Association.
