BUCKINGHAM - Ernest Edward "Ed" Whitmore Jr., 73, of Buckingham, died Monday, March 17, 2014, at Sunrise Hill Care Center, Traer.

He was born April 13, 1940, in Waterloo, son of Ernest Sr. and Helen Speer Whitmore. On Feb. 18, 1984, he married Linda Forsythe.

Ed graduated from Geneseo High School. He farmed in partnership with the Gunn family all of his life. He also worked security for special occasions and took care of the Geneseo Cemetery.

Survived by his wife; three sons, Nick (Kris) Whitemore, Brian Morrison and Mike (Shellie) Morrison, all of Traer; eight grandchildren, Trent and Brynn Whitmore, Katie, Scott and Tyler Morrison, and Chase, Larissa and Jessica Morrison, all of Traer; two brothers, Lee (Linda) of Dunkerton and Rod (Laurie) of Eyota, Minn.; and many nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother.

Services: 3 p.m. Friday at Geneseo United Methodist Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in the church cemetery. Overton Funeral Home, Dysart, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Ed enjoyed going to auctions, collecting guns and tractors, and polka music. He had a very strong relationship with his family.
