WATERLOO - Marie Martha Everding Gardner, 80, of Waterloo, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes.

She was born June 29, 1928, in New Hampton, daughter of Albert and Anita Kimball Everding. She married Claude Gardner on Nov. 19, 1946, in Gilbertville.

She was employed as a secretary/estimator for Claude Gardner Construction for more than 50 years.

Survived by her husband; three sons, Ron (Cheryl) of Cookville, Tenn., David of Waterloo and Jim (Julie) of La Porte City; four daughters, Kay (Bob) Recker and Joan (Larry) Krienert, both of Waterloo, Barb (Mike) Delagardelle of Jesup and Cheryl (Brad) Kiecker of Fairfax, Minn.; 15 grandchildren, Jennifer and Jessica Gardner, Christopher and Dawn Recker, Craig (Carolyn), Corey and Carrie Krienert, Daniel (Stacy) and Jeremy Delagardelle, Andrew and Angela Kiecker, Aubrie (Justin) Miller, and Ashton, Avery and Aidan Gardner; six great-grandchildren, Francesca, Alexandria, Michael, Hunter and Kolton Krienert and Dominic Delagardelle; a brother, Sherman Everding of Tulsa, Okla.; and a sister, Shirley Jones of Hudson.

Preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lloyd Everding; an infant brother, Alford Everding; and two sisters, Irene Nacke and Leota Hilton.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with entombment in Mount Olivet Mausoleum. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Monday at the church.
