WATERLOO - Elizabeth D. Meeker, 92, of Waterloo, passed away of natural causes on Jan. 29, 2007, while visiting relatives in Colorado Springs, Colo.

She was born May 27, 1914, in Kossuth County, daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Charity Ann Lincoln. She grew up in Waterloo and graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1933. She married James Russell Meeker on Aug. 5, 1933. She was a homemaker and worked at James Black Dry Goods Co. in the china department. She also was a well-known cake decorator for many years. She belonged to bridge and 500 clubs. She enjoyed square dancing, traveling, crocheting, crafts and sewing.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty Sewick of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Jim Sewick of Waco, Texas, Cynthia Bulgarino of Sandy Valley, Nev., Jeff Sewick of Colorado Springs, Tom Meeker of Janesville and Tim Meeker of Plainfield; great-grandchildren, James R. Meeker, Thomas W. Meeker and Sarah Oberwegner; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Her parents preceded her in death; her husband, Russell; her son, Tom; two brothers, Leo D. Lincoln and Darreld R. Martin.

Memorial services will be on Tuesday, May 29, 10:30 a.m., at Cedar Valley Community Church, 3520 Ansborough Ave., Waterloo. Inurnment will be in La Porte City at West View Cemetery.

A memorial fund will be set up.
