CEDAR FALLS - Louise E. Souders, 78, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, June 30, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of complications from a fall.

She was born April 5, 1927, in Mount Vernon, daughter of Arthur "A.J." and Grace Hoodmaker Rogers. She married Ralph V. Souders April 20, 1946, in Mount Vernon.

She graduated from Mount Vernon High School and received her degree in elementary education from Cornell College in 1949. Louise was a member of the Cedar Falls Womans Club for many years and also a member of First Evangelical Free Church.

Survived by her husband, Ralph of Cedar Falls; a son, Ray Souders of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Ann (Timm) Brom of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; and five grandchildren, Sarah (Brad) Lindsay of Durham, N.C., and Tim, Daniel, Elizabeth and Luke Brom, at home in Prairie du Chien.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Faye Irwin.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and for one hour prior to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund will be established.
