WATERLOO - Pauline L. Rathe, 80, of the Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly of Evansdale, died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 22, 1926, in Waterloo, daughter of William and Loretta Brooks Green. She married Richard C. Rathe on April 12, 1947, in Waterloo. He died March 5, 2005.

Mrs. Rathe retired from Rath Packing Co. after 40 years in the sliced bacon department.

Survivors include two sons, Tim (Sandy) of Gilbertville and Craig (Cheryl) of Evansdale; a daughter, Linda DeGroot of Waterloo; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Delores Ebel of California.

Preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Green; and three sisters, Helen Jones, Vera Cassady and Opal Ferger.

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
