Mrs. Doney Jones, 72, of 258 Short St., died at 11:40 a.m Sunday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of a heart condition.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. A. A Sodawasser, pastor, officiating Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Scripture will be a 7:30 p.m. Monday at Oppold Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jones was born Sept. 18, 1900*, in Yugoslavia, the daughter of Mitri and Minnie Stanovich. She came to the United States as a girl. She was married to George Jones in 1917 and he preceded her in death in 1939.

Surviving are six sons, Miller of Ypsilanti, Mich., John B. of Paris, Calif., Gus B. of Minneapolis. Minn., Willie of Rockford, Ill., George of Dallas, Tex., and Mitch of Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters, Mrs. Rose George of Peoria, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Stanley of 258 Short St.; 39 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, and five daughters.

*Gravestone inscribed Doney Jones 1888-1973. However, 1888 doesn't add up with the age of 72.
