Charles Griggs, 57, of 231 Oneida St., died Thursday at 7:30 a. m in St. Francis hospital of carcinoma.

He was born June 25, 1897, at Durant, Miss., son of James and Virginia Huseman* Griggs and married Mabel Anderson Aug. 18 1930, at Dubuque.

Mr. Griggs resided here 40 years, being a car welder for the Illinois Central Railroad. He was a member of Payne Methodist Church and a World War I veteran.

Surviving besides his wife are two brothers, James of Kansas City, Kan., and Theodore of 335 N. Barclay St., and a sister, Mrs Juariita Place of Milwaukee, Wis

Arrangements for last rites are pending at the Kearns-Dykcman Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Charles Griggs, 57, of 231 Oncidn St., who died Thursday of carcinoma, will be Monday at 2 p. .m. in Payne M. E. Church. The Rev. George T. Stinsbn, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
