WATERLOO - Garold L. Titus, 74, of Aredale, formerly of Waterloo, died Feb. 16, 2014, at Hospice of Austin’s Christopher House, Austin, Texas.

He was born Feb. 16, 1940, in Albert City, son of Glenn LeRoy "Roy” and Ora Louise Sassman Titus. He married Veldene E. Bige on June 2, 2001, in Waterloo.

Garold worked at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, retiring in 1994, after 30 years.

Survived by his wife; three sons, Garold L. Jr. "Lee” (Jo) of Dixon, Mo., Mike (Dee) of Rockford and Chris (Amy) of Marble Rock; a daughter, Judy (Monte) Troyer of Stanley; 10 grandchildren, Dawnya Titus, Andrew Sutton, Garold L. III “Roy” (Rae) Titus, Melody (Adam) Quinn, Melissa Troyer, Mitch Troyer, Molly Troyer, Chris Titus, Jr., Jacob Titus and Kyle Titus; a brother, Geary (Paulette) of Waterloo; and three sisters, Bonnie (Don) Schoenfield of Mission, Texas, Sandra Crossman of Strawberry Point and Jaquetta (Ed) Knebel of Dunkerton.

Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Rodell; and a brother-in-law, Ron Crossman.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Garold enjoyed farming with his wife Veldene on their farm in Aredale, tractor rides seeing different farming communities and anything to do with tractors. They enjoyed spending the past three winters in Fredericksburg, Texas, where they made many friends.
