CEDAR FALLS - Ethel May Barth, 97, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

She was born March 3, 1916, in Waverly, daughter of Eldon and Edith Fenner Grapp. She married Ralph D. Barth on Dec. 29, 1932, in Austin, Minn.; he died Sept. 15, 1990.

Ethel was employed at Lloyds Drugstore, Waterloo, prior to moving to Denver, Colo., where she worked as a nanny.

Survived by two sons, Ralph Eugene “Gene” of Waterloo and Dale of Littleton, Colo.; four grandchildren; four brothers, Lyle (Darlene), Darrell “Rudy” and Warren (Nancy) Grapp, all of Cedar Falls, and Gerald (Kathy) Grapp of Waterloo; and three sisters, Marjorie (Raynor) Marchal of Clarion, Geraldine “Gerri” Kenneth Hansen of Evansdale and Darlene (Wayne) Herzog of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a son, David; two brothers, Robert and Donald Grapp; and five sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Fischer, Vearl Gilliland, Violet Fairbanks, Alice Lancaster and Rose “Pozy” Sells.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with a 7 p.m. rosary. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.
