Services for Paul J. Drewelow, 24, of 88 Mulberry St., will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls with burial in Boyd.

He died at his home about 10:30 p.m. Sunday of an apparent suicide caused by a shotgun wound to his chest, according to Dr. Alan Cameron, deputy medical examiner for Black Hawk County.

He was born Nov. 26, 1954, in New Hampton, son of Robert and Ardith Whitmable Drewelow. He graduated from East High School and attended the University of Northern Iowa. He was employed at Viking Pump and the Cinema Theaters at the time of his death. He married Julie Gray Feb. 11, 1978, in Cedar Falls.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Paul; at home; his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pates of 102 Leonard St.; a stepgrandmother, Mrs. Irma Whitmable of Mason City; two brothers, Terry of Waterloo and Stanley of Evansdale; two stepbrothers, David Pates of Vinton and Jerry Pates of Waterloo; three sisters, Mrs. Dale Pietan and Mrs. Burt Menke, both of Waterloo, and Mrs. Larry Throndson of New Hampton; three stepsisters, Mrs. Dennis Hines and Mrs. Ruth Louis Proctor, both of Waterloo, and Mrs. Carol Shader of Cedar Falls.

Friends may call at Parrott and Wood Funeral Home until 10 a.m. Wednesday and at the church after 11 a.m.
