RAYMOND -- Margie Ann Kohls Thome, 70 of Cedar Falls, formerly of Raymond, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Bickford of Cedar Falls.
She was born March 21, 1943, in West Union, daughter of Albert and Mildred Ishman Kohls. She married Larry M. Thome on June 3, 1961, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Raymond; he died Aug. 2, 2005.
Margie graduated from Waterloo East High School. She was employed at Bishop Buffet and then Black Hawk County for 22 years.
Survived by a daughter, Pam (Mark) Schares of Gilbertville; a son, Dan (Deb) of Raymond; two grandsons, Eric (Jacki) Schares and Ryan (Rachael) Schares; a great-grandbaby on the way; three step-grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Iehl, Erin (Keegan) Cahannes and Luke (Kara) Horton; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Jordyn, Ryan and Ayden Iehl; two sisters, Jan Lewis and Cindy (Jim) Kirchoff, both of Evansdale; a brother, Denny (Donna) Kohls of Evansdale; her mother-in-law, Agatha Thome of Raymond; three brothers-in-law, Dick (Sharon) Thome, Ronnie (Linda) Thome and Jim (Deb) Thome, all of Raymond; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Donald Lewis and Kenneth Thome; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Thome.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Raymond. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 4 p.m. rosary. Visitation also an hour before services Monday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Raymond, the Bosco System or Cedar Valley Hospice.
