CEDAR FALLS - Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Martin, 91, of Sun City West, Ariz., formerly of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014.

She was born Oct. 30, 1922, in Des Moines, daughter of Elizabeth and Ora Sykes. She married Glen A. Martin in 1946.

She graduated from East High School, Des Moines, in 1940, and from Iowa State Teachers College in 1946. Libby went on to teach physical education in Cedar Falls schools.

Survived by her husband; two children; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers.

Services: at her request, no service will be held.

Libby and her husband lived together in Cedar Falls, before retiring to Sun City West, around 1994. She loved sports, especially softball, and played softball for 12 years. In 1989, Libby was inducted into the Des Moines Softball Hall of Fame, and in 1990 she was inducted into the Iowa Softball Hall of Fame.
