WATERLOO - Fred Goldsberry, 81, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born March 1, 1932, in Oelwein, son of Ronald R. and Bethel Clow Goldsberry. He married Elaine DeTimmerman on April 18, 1953, in Fairbank.

Fred graduated from Fairbank High School. He was employed in the frozen food department at Rath Packing Co. for 13 years and then in the schedule department at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, retiring in 1986.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Daniel (Dolly) and Thomas (Sandra), both of Waterloo; a daughter, Julie (Paul) Roloff of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Danny (Lori Gerst) Goldsberry, Dustin (Angie) Goldsberry, Patrick (Amanda) Roloff, Sam Goldsberry and Amy (Jerry) Kohlhaas; two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Brady Kohlhaas; two brothers, Richard (Pauline) and Robert (Pauline), both of Cedar Rapids; and three sisters, Bonnie Blackmer, Marian (Robert) Wichman, and Judy (Chuck) Avis, all of Cedar Rapids.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with inurnment at a later date. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
