Word of the death of Clayton H. West, 39, at Downey, Calif., a former resident of Waterloo, has been received here.

He was born in Waterloo and attended Hawthorne and Lafayette
Schools and East Junior High. He served in the U.S. Navy during the latter part of World War II.

While in Waterloo his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville M. West were employed at the Rath packing Co., moving to Claifornia with Clayton 24 years ago.

Clayton is survived by his wife, Margaret and three sons, Kenneth, Steven and Darrell, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville West of Bell Gardens, Calif.; one brother and two sisters.
