Funeral services for Mrs. Andrew C. Simonsen, 80, a resident of the Allen Memorial Home for the past three and one-half years, are set for 3:30 p.m. Friday in St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church.

The Rev. Arnold L. Tiemeyer of Chicago, former pastor of the church, is to officiate, followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home until noon Friday and at the church until shortly before the time of service. The casket will also be open following the service.

Mrs. Simonsen died at 12:18 p.m. Wednesday at Allen Home of complications following a stroke.

The former Cena Louise Buhl, she was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Dec. 4, 1885, to Jens Peter and Hannah Hansen Buhl. She was married to Andrew C. Simonsen in Cedar Falls on Oct. 14, 1909, and the couple had since resided in Waterloo. She was a member of St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Simonsen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a daughter.

Survivors are two sons, Roland A. Simonsen of 4100 W. 4th St. and Richard B. Simonsen of 812 Vermont St.; two daughters, Mmes. Henry M. Lawrence of Phoenix, Ariz., and Thomas F. Buchanan of Lake Forest, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Fred [Gertrude] Zack of 319 Harwood Ave.; three brothers: Carl Buhl of Des Moines, George Buhl of Burlington and Hans Buhl of Rice Lake, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Researcher Yvonne Swan has her given name as "Hansine" although the gravestone is "Cena" as in the obituary.
