WATERLOO, IOWA -- C. E. "Satch" Paige, 82, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born January 2, 1938, in Grundy Center, son of Virgil A. and Myrtle Bloxham Paige. He married Shirley Ann Thies on May 18, 1954, at First Lutheran Church, Waterloo. She preceded him in death on June 4, 2013.

Satch graduated from Dike High School and attended Iowa State Teacher’s College for three years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked as an insurance salesman for 30 years, retiring in 1994.

Survived by: a son, Randy (Sarah) of Rochester, Ill.; a daughter, Joni (Ed) Paige-Fliege of Springfield, Ill.; three grandsons; three brothers, Charles and Wayne (Marlene), both of Dike, and Vernon of Askov, Minn.

Preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sandra Bowman; and three brothers, Lawrence, John and Don.

Memorial services: are being planned for a later date with inurnment in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. His body has been cremated. There will be no visitation. Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
