CEDAR FALLS - Edward D. Ahlf, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at Sartori Memorial Hospital emergency room of a coronary.

He was born March 18, 1918, in Muscatine, son of William H. and Adeline S. Shotwell Ahlf. He married Irene J. Deems on Dec. 19, 1940, in Muscatine. She died April 20, 2001.

Mr. Ahlf was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and had been employed as an office manager at Kent Feeds, Waterloo, retiring in 1981.

Survivors include two sons, Edward D. of Clinton and William A. (Paula) of Altoona; a daughter, Denise A. (Glen) Monson of Dixon, Ill.; five grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren; and a special friend, Pat Majerus of Cedar Falls.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial at 2:30 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Muscatine. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, with family present 5 to 7 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
