WATERLOO - Robert Lee Hutcheson, 76, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

He was born Sept. 21, 1928, in Tyrone, Mo., son of Raymond E. and Mellie Fern Bridges Hutcheson. He graduated from Marshalltown High School with the class of 1947. He married Barbara Russom Feb. 21, 1951, in State Center.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy for seven years and then began his career as a truck driver. He drove for various companies before becoming an owner/operator. During his spare time he enjoyed fishing, boating, watching TV and meeting and talking to people. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.

Survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Nolan (Kelly) of Garner and Jay of Waterloo; three daughters, Alexa Hutcheson of Des Moines, Suzanne (David) Seedorff of Readlyn and Nancy (Tom) Kubik of Clutier; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Cecil (Charlotte) and Ronald (Joanne), both of Marshalltown, James (Ellen) of Albion and Donald (Patsy) of Fort Collins, Colo.

Preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Mark Hutcheson; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Marshalltown. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial fund has been established.
