Harvey R. Minikus was born August 24, 1921 in Cedar Falls, Iowa the son of Louie and Dorothy (Backerman) Minikus.

He served in the U. S. Force during WWII. Harvey and Annette Christensen were united in marriage on October 19, 1946 in Waterloo, Iowa. He was employed at Wagner Manufacturing in Cedar Falls until 1958 and was then employed at Waterloo Industries from February 9, 1961 until January 1, 1985.

Survivors include his wife, Annette, of Cedar Falls; three sons, Bob, Dennis, and David, all of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Nancy Heiserman, of Ottumwa, Iowa, Sandra Goings and Debra Niedert, both of Evansdale; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Harvey was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Heiserman, two brothers, Roy and Earl Minikus, and one sister, Gladys Minikus.

Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Full military rites were conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Memorials may be directed to the family.
