WATERLOO - Michael E. Gott, 58, of Waterloo, died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at 401 Shirley Ave., Elk Run Heights, of natural causes.

He was born March 15, 1950, in Waterloo, son of Harold and Jeanne Ainsworth Gott. He married Elizabeth Klemz.

Mr. Gott received his GED from West High, then entered the armed forces and joined the U.S. Marines, attaining the rank of corporal and serving in Vietnam. He worked as a tile setter for William Kearney and Nelson Yoder.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Michelle Gott of Monmouth, Ore., and Kelly Lovstad of Clear Lake; a son, Andrew of Waterloo; a grandson; his mother of Monticello; a brother, Bill (Judy) of Albany, Ore.; and two sisters, Sherry (Frank) Beckwith of Monticello, and Senna (Ed) Ferguson of Dubuque.

Preceded in death by his father.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the family or Cedar Valley Hospice.
