WATERLOO - Mary E. Peverill, 93, of Waterloo, died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born May 9, 1915, in Franklin County, Pa., daughter of Jesse and Sarah Bender Wenger. She married Fred William Peverill on Oct. 5, 1940, in New Hampton. He died July 28, 2005.

Mrs. Peverill worked in the fabric department of Wells Discount Store for 6 1/2 years, retiring in 1972.

Survived by a son, Fred W. (Carol) of Carthage, Texas; two daughters, Betty J. (Tom) Power of Tripoli and Janice K. (John) Wheeler of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Peterson of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Arthur Wenger.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. today and an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers being sent to the service, the family requests you plant a perennial plant in the garden of your choice.

Mary never met a flower she didn't love.
