WATERLOO - Janice Mae Holscher, 90, of Waterloo, died Monday, May 26, 2008, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 25, 1917, in Worthington, daughter of George and Alma Streit Tobin. She married William L. Holscher on Sept. 10, 1940, in Earlville. He died Aug. 23, 1982.

Mrs. Holscher was employed as a health inspector with the Black Hawk County Health Department until retirement.

Survived by a son, William G. (Jean) of Polk City; four daughters, Roseann (James) Cory of Cedar Falls, Diann (Bud) Hanson of Waterloo, Carla Aykroyd of Niles, Mich., and Barbara (Louie) Hagarty also of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren, Rod (Mary) Cory, Cindy (Paul) Gerken, JoAnn (Dean) Kruger, Jeff (Jennifer) Aykroyd, Dan (Jenny) Aykroyd, Tim (Laura) Aykroyd, Louis W. (Sheila) Hagarty, Katie (Matt) Linn, Bridgette Hagarty, Bill Holscher (fiancee Crystal Fuller) and Jonathan Holscher; and 16 great-grandchildren, Danielle, Tyler, Joshua and Kyle Cory, Tarek, Ezekiel, Micah Yaeggi, Michael and Jillyn Gerken, Joseph Kruger, Stephen Chadwick, Jared R. and Daniel Alexander Aykroyd, Nicholas William Hagarty, Kalli Tietz and Ava Mae Linn; a sister, Georgene Pettinger of Worthington; and a granddaughter-in-law, Ursula (Dr. Brent) Yaeggi.

Preceded in death by a grandson, Douglas Cory; a son-law, Stephen Aykroyd; and two brothers, Merle and Richard Tobin.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with entombment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. There will be no visitation at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
