DOERING, HOGAN, JAMES, NESBIT, KINKAID, HARTZ, SCHELLENTRAGER

Harry J. "Jim" Doering, 87, of Waterloo died Monday at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born October 1, 1920 in Iowa Falls son of John and Nina Hogan Doering. He married Mary James on October 1, 1942 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Waterloo. Harry graduated from Iowa Falls High School and served with the U.S. Army Aircorps during WWII. He was employed with John Deere as an assember for 38 years retiring from the Engine Works in 1982.

Survivors include his wife four sons: Don (Dianne), Michael (Karen Hagarty), Steven (Mary) all of Waterloo, and Jon (Laura) of Ankeny; four daughters: Jeanne (Ron) Nesbit of Clive, Mary (Russ) Kinkaid of Shell Rock, Cathy (Tim) Hartz of Cedar Falls, and Tamie (Gregg) Schellentrager of Parrish, FL; 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a daughter Patricia in infancy.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Waterloo & Evansdale AMVETS Posts 19 & 31. Public visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation will continue for one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
