WATERLOO - Marshall "Skip" Abbe Jr., 52, of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, at home of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 7, 1955, in Waterloo, son of Marshall Sr. and Wanda Stoner Abbe. He graduated from Central High School in 1974 and then went on to receive his executive chef culinary degree.

Mr. Abbe was a chef with many restaurants in Waterloo, including his family's restaurant, The Colony Club. Most recently he was employed at Tyson Foods as an equipment operator.

Survived by his mother, Wanda Abbe of Cedar Falls; sons, Marshall III and Jordan, both of Waterloo; a sister, Lisa Abbe of Waterloo; and a brother, Ron (Kay) Johnson of Fort Myers Beach, Fla.

Preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services: Sunday, May 18, in Overman Park, Cedar Falls. A eulogy will be at 1 p.m. followed by a time for anyone to share their memories of Skip. Family and friends are invited to a barbecue in the park following the services. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to the family in care of the funeral home.
