WATERLOO - Carl E. Bergmann Jr., 53, of Evansdale, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

He was born Aug. 9, 1954, in Bluffton, son of Carl E. and Grace A. Magee Bergmann Sr. He married Cheryl L. Anderson on Oct. 21, 1973, in Waterloo. They later divorced.

Survived by a son, Carl III of Waterloo; three daughters, Racheal Bergmann and Ashley Bergmann, both of Waterloo, and Carmen Bergmann of Evansdale; a granddaughter, Jayden Weber of Waterloo; two sisters, Elaine (Bill) McGrew and Marie Herrmann, both of Waterloo; three brothers, Elton and Frank, both of Waterloo, and Colin of Evansdale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Loren.

Graveside services were Wednesday at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Carl had a love of cars and motorcycles and music, enjoyed fishing, and enjoyed his friends and family. His children meant the world to him.

The family would like to express their thanks to the Cedar Valley Hospice and Staff for all their support and kindness.
