WATERLOO - Naomi R. Thomas, 75, of Waterloo, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Allen Hospital.

She was born Aug. 16, 1932, in Mason City, daughter of William and Lois Wilhite Huffman. She married Dearl W. Thomas on Sept. 11, 1954, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Thomas was active in the ministries and counseling at Cedar Valley Community Church for more than 40 years.

Survived by her husband; a son, Michael of Des Moines; two daughters, Cindy (Jim) Pierce of Johnston and Terri (Tom) Martin of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Noah and Nick Martin, Andrew (Michelle) and Stephanie Shimp and Austin Pierce; two great-granddaughters, Madison and Savannah Shimp; a great-grandson on the way; and a brother, the Rev. Paul (Amy) Huffman of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a brother, Dan Huffman; and a sister, Edith Garrison.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Valley Community Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and for an hour before services Wednesday, all at the church. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Naomi touched numerous hearts, was loved by many and will be missed by all.
