WATERLOO - Sandra Marie Dirkes, 54, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at Allen Hospital.

She was born May 26, 1953, in Waterloo, daughter of Merle and Clementine Reiter Zuck Sr. She married James M. Dirkes on Oct. 6, 1973, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Evansdale.

Mrs. Dirkes was a homemaker.

Survived by her husband; a son, Brian (Monica) of Waterloo; a daughter, Robin (Jody) Dirkes of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, Darrin, Crystalynn, Danielle, Antony, Destiny, Devon and Madison Dirkes; six brothers, Bill (Martha) Zuck of Waterloo, Steve Zuck of Arizona, Mike (Becky) Zuck of Bondurant, Tom Zuck, also of Waterloo, Keith Zuck of Arkansas and Rod Zuck of Florida; her father of Clearwater, Fla.; and three sisters, Peggy (Jeff) Kyle and Becky Blackmer, both of Florida, and Sharon (Pete) Freeman of Kentucky.

Preceded in death by her mother; a brother, Merle Zuck Jr.; a sister, Karen Zuck; and a grandson, Michael Dirkes.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
