HERMAN W. MOLLENHAUER

Funeral services for Herman W. Mollenhauer. 65, of 1402 Mulberry St., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity American Lutheran Church. There will be a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lafayette Cemetery at Lafayette. Friends may call at the Parrott and Wood Funeral Home after noontime Thursday.

Mr. Mollenhauer died at 4 a.m. Tuesday of a heart attack at his home.

He was horn on March 5, 1908, at Center Point, the son of Carl F. and Bessie Johnson Mollenhauer. He married Pauline Sauer on Feb. 29, 1936, at Center Point, Iowa. Mr. Mollenhauer was a veteran of World War II.

After leaving the service he became associated with the Department of Agriculture in the Soil Conservation division. For 20 years, prior to his retirement in 1966, he was a federal meat inspector.

Mr. Mollenhauer was a member of Trinity American Lutheran Church, the La Porte City American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of La Porte City; and of the Disabled American Veterans of Waterloo; and also a member of National Association of Federal Employes.

Surviving are his wife at home; one son, Lt. Herman Mollenhauer Jr. of the U.S. Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, N. C.; three daughters, Mrs. Ronald Sloan of Englewood, Colo., Mrs. Arlis Hay of Simi Valley, Calif., and Mrs. Thomas Hinchy of Griffith, Ind.; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Mollenhauer of Walker, and Forrest Mollenhauer Spring Valley, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.
