LA PORTE CITY - David Russell Fuller, 62, of La Porte City, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2914, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, of liver cancer.

He was born Sept. 27, 1951, in Waterloo, son of Robert and Mattie Cochran Fuller. He married Bridget Ryan on Oct. 14, 1978, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, La Porte City.

Mr. Fuller worked at John Deere as UAW safety rep at the component works, retiring in 2011. He was a former member of the Lions Club, and had served on the school board and the board for the La Porte City Golf Course.

Survived by his wife; a son, Bob of Waterloo; a daughter, Elizabeth (Darrell) DeWinter of La Porte City; two grandsons, Maddux and Bryson; four brothers, Charles (Marie) of La Porte City, Ray (Donna) of Chandler, Ariz., Daniel (Mardy) of Mesa, Ariz., and Greg Fry of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Cheryl Mullesch of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, La Porte City. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, and an hour before services Friday.

David enjoyed golfing, family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
