WATERLOO, Iowa - Wilma M. “Billie” Earles, 86, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

She was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Donnybrook, N.D., daughter of Dan and Bertha Falk Anderson. She married Keith Earles on April 12, 1948, in Waterloo; he died Feb. 19, 1992.

She earned a teaching certificate from Minot State Teacher’s College and prior to moving to Waterloo taught in a one-room school house in North Dakota.

Survived by two sons, Timothy (Noreen) of Waterloo and Doug (Cathy) of Jesup; three daughters, Sandy (Randy) Yockey and Susan (Brian Davis) Gleason, both of Waterloo, and Shelly Brooks of Urbandale; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Lila Cline of Waterloo; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Cory Yockey; three brothers, Ralph and Gerald Anderson, and Frank Falk; and three sisters, Harriet Berg, Joyce Nielson and Dorothy Backen.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, with inurnment at a later date in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today and an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Billie was a lifelong Yankee fan and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
