WATERLOO - Dale R. Wood, 82, of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at ManorCare Health Services from complications of a stroke.

He was born Jan. 6, 1923, in Britt, son of Russell and Dovie Evans Wood. He married Betty Wren on May 4, 1942, in Lancaster, Mo.

Mr. Wood was the broker of 4 Seasons Realty and later was employed by Century 21 as a real estate agent. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Jorja (Dan) McMillan of Waterloo, Vicki Olmstead of Evansdale and Susan Hughes of California; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Wood; and a sister, Darlene Laughlin.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623.
