WATERLOO - Boyd Burdette "Bert" Voshell, 83, of Waterloo, formerly of Arlington, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly, following a lengthy illness with Parkinson's.

He was born Jan. 12, 1931, in Arlington, son of Chancey and Virginia Northrop Voshell. On April 16, 1951, he married Louise Lockwood at the Church of Christ, Arlington.

Mr. Voshell attended school in Arlington and was employed at Rath Packing Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1985.

Survived by his wife; three daughters, Kathy (Tim) Harn of Waverly, Sandy (Tim) Murray of Elk Run Heights and Janice (Garry) Burns of Waterloo; two sons, Ron (Darlene) of Waterloo and Steve (Laurie) of Hampton, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond of Waterloo, Leon of Cedar Falls and Lester of Pratt, Kan.; and a sister, Lorna Peterman of Waldorf.

Preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Delbert, Duane, Lyle, Larry and Darrel; and two sisters, Maxine Voshell and Violet Nielsen.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Chapel, Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, and for an hour before services Thursday at the Good Shepherd Chapel.

Memorials may be directed to Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, 2nd Floor, or to Cedar Valley Hospice of Waverly.
