WATERLOO - Lucille Iva Shannon, 78, of Waterloo, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital.

She was born March 17, 1935, in Independence, daughter of Kyle and Verla Hillman. She married Jerry Shannon on Nov. 20, 1956, in Las Vegas.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Bud of Waterloo and Rick (Kim) of Olathe, Kan.; three daughters, Connie of Cedar Rapids, Geri of Weed, Calif., and Shelly of Waterloo; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lyle Hillman of Waterloo; and a sister, Judy (Jerry) Stewart of Independence, Mo.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1530 Pleasant Valley Drive, preceded by an hour of visitation.

Lucille enjoyed fishing with her husband Jerry, cooking, reading, listening to and helping others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, yet her greatest joy was serving her God Jehovah. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
