CEDAR FALLS - Mary Ellen A. Redl, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

She was born Dec. 11, 1926, in St. Louis, daughter of John and Gertrude Simon Lloyd. She married John Redl on June 9, 1947, in Newcastle, Neb. He died Dec. 3, 2007.

Mrs. Redl was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Survived by two sons, Peter (Jeanie) of Cedar Falls and David (Sharon) of Oelwein; three grandchildren, Christopher Redl of Aurora, Colo., Laura (Jay) Sidles of Emmetsburg and Kathie (Kevin) Kane of Fairbank; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Lloyd; and three sisters, Virginia Hall, Henrietta Nix and Alberta Pumphrey.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorial fund will be established.
