Mae Louise Kahler, 76, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born Nov. 10, 1923, in Parkersburg, daughter of Howard M. and Julia K. Atwater Bucknam. She married James F. Kahler on Feb. 7, 1948, in Maywood, Ill. He died Oct. 2, 1985.

Mrs. Kahler was past president of American Legion Auxiliary Post 237.

Survived by a son, J. William of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Jane A. Campbell of Dike; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edwin H. Bucknam of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a sister, Sarah McLarnan.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Home, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church.
