Richard D. O' Hara, 67, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at Iowa Veteran's Home, Marshalltown, of natural causes.

He was born July 28, 1933, in Central City, son of Thomas M. and Fern L. Erath O'Hara. He married Lois D. Swancutt on Sept. 4, 1954, in Dubuque. She died Dec. 6, 1999. Mr. O'Hara had been employed as a tool and die maker at John Deere for 37 years, retiring in 1988. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Survived by three sons, Ronald of Black Eagle, Mont., Robert of Elk Run Heights and Brian of Waterloo; a daughter, Kathleen Beckman of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry of Moline, Ill.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until services Monday at the chapel. The casket will be closed.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
