Clark B. "Bernie" Burington, 63, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born May 22, 1937, in Lamont, son of Clark D. and Esther L. Emmons Burington. He married Charlotte Homan on Nov. 9, 1968, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Burington was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survived by a son, Paul Dewitt of Ruidoso, N.M.; two daughters, Sheila Breja of Elberon and Shari Ann Avent of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandsons and a great-granddaughter; a brother, Harold D. of Cedar Falls; and a sister AuRae Heidemann of Denver.

Preceded in death by an infant sister, Lucy.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and for an hour before services Monday at the chapel.
