EVANSDALE - Iona Mae DeWitt, 79, formerly of Fox Meadow Apartments, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001 at Manor Care, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Streator, Ill., daughter of Fred and Velma Bodecker Cox. She married Ernest F. Jenney March 5, 1938, in Waterloo. He died in 1975. She then married Percy DeWitt in Chariton. He died June 23, 1993.

Mrs. DeWitt was a press operator for Chamberlain Manufacturing, retiring in 1962.

Survived by three sons, William Jenney of Elk Run Heights, Richard Jenney of Cedar Falls and Stephen DeWitt of Dubuque; two daughters, Marjorie Groskurth of Evansdale and Margaret Briganti of Port Chester, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Berniece Moore of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a great-grandson; and a brother, Harold Cox.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Evansdale, with burial in Littleton Cemetery, Littleton. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 3 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
