LA PORTE CITY - Blaine J. Holland, 86, of Inglewood, Calif., formerly of Iowa, died Dec. 21, 2000 at a California hospital from respiratory failure.

He was born Jan. 7, 1914, in Newhall, son of Hiram M. and Clara A. Olson Holland. Mr. Holland was department manager for Hughes Aircraft, California, for 45 years.

Survived by a sister, Dorothy Fleck of La Porte City.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Loren and Charles.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Friends may call for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church. Huisman Funeral Home, La Porte City, is in charge of local arrangements.
