WATERLOO — Percy James "PJ." Hanna, 78, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2000, at home of natural causes.

He was born Feb. 27, 1922, in Luverne, Minn., son of Emil M. and Lula M. Engle Hanna. He married Violet M. Sullivan on Jan. 27, 1947, in Maryville, Kan.

Mr. Hanna was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War n in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He worked at Rath Packing Co. from 1941 to 1962 and later in the shipping department of Viking Pump from 1966 until retiring in 1987. He was past master of Crescent Council No. 16.

Survived by his wife; two sons, James D. of Waterloo and John B. of Parkersburg; three grandchildren; and a sister, Emily Frost of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Everett and Vemon.

Services: 10-30 a.m. Friday at Central Christian Church, with bunal tn Garden of Memories. Friends may call from 5 to 8-p.m. today at Garden View Chapel, where there will be a 7 p.m. Masonic service conducted by Waterloo Lodge 105 AF&AM. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
