ELK RUN HEIGHTS — Merle M. Martin, 79, of Clinton, formerly of Elk Run Heights, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, at his home of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 18,1921. in Mount Morris, Wis., son of Everett and Cora Moore Martin. He married Frances Darlene Wyant on Nov. 3,1962, in Mount Ayr.

Mr. Martin entered into the Assemblies of God Ministry in 1963 and served as a minister for 34 years, retiring in 1997. He served congregations in Wisconsin, South Dakota, North Dakota. Missouri and Iowa. He was previously a journeyman and painter for autobody shops. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II

Survived by his wife; two sons, the Rev. Keith of Clinton and Dale of Wonewoc, Wis.; three daughters, Peggy Sharp of Wonewoc, Donna Martin of Clinton and JoAnn Chalupecky of Hillsboro, Wis.: and 11 grandchildren. .

Preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Services: 2 p.m. today at Faith Assembly of God, Elk Run Heights, with private
inurnment at Waterloo Memorial Gardens Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

A memorial fund has been established.

Snell-Zomig Funeral Homes and Crematory, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
