GRUNDY CENTER — Elaine K. Venenga, 66, of Grundy Center, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

She was born Oct. 21, 1946, in Cedar Falls, daughter of John H. and Gladys Hempen Bakker. She married Keith Venenga on March 4, 1966, at Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Venenga graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1964, then began working in Cedar Falls as a librarian, then went to work at the ASCS office, Grundy Center. Beginning in 1974 she worked at the Heronimus Schmidt and Allen Law Office for 38 years as a legal secretary. She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and served as the church treasurer, a Wednesday School teacher and played in the Bethany Bell Choir. She was a member of the Red Hats Society and the Business Women’s Club.

Survived by two sons, Kevin (Kimra) and Kent (Jenn); a daughter, Emily (Jason) Schuneman; seven grandchildren, Kalianne, Kyle, Tyler, Paige, Erica, Bryce and Trevor; and her mother.

Preceded in death by her father; and a brother, Jim Bakker.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethany Presbyterian Church, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, both in Grundy Center. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center.
