WATERLOO — Dorothy M. Edwards, 94, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 12, 1918, in Independence, daughter of Robert and Bessie Harrington Wilkinson. She married Wilford J. Edwards on March 6, 1948, at the Baptist Church in Independence. He died in 1996.

She attended rural schools in the Independence, Hazleton and Lamont school districts. She worked in farm homes when a new member of the family was expected, was employed at Hinson Manufacturing Co. and was a machinist at John Deere during World War ll. Mrs. Edwards also worked in housekeeping at Allen Hospital. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

Survived by a sister, Elizabeth Ann Wilkinson Bencke of Maynard; a stepson-in-law, Don Mikkelsen of Waterloo; five stepgrandchildren; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Jean Conaway Mikkelsen; a stepson, Richard Edwards; two sisters, Neva Kaufmann Miller and Edna Roepke; two brothers, Earl Weitnauer and Robert Wilkinson; a stepgranddaughter; and an infant great-great-grandson.

Family directed memorial services: 11 a.m Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family or the church.
