WATERLOO - James J. Ellison, 81, of Waterloo, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer.

He was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Jennings, W. Va., son of Oren and Bessie Mellens Ellison. He married Mary F. Malcomb July 15, 1950, in Summersville, W. Va. She preceded him in death Sept. 28, 2002.

Mr. Ellison was employed by John Deere for almost 27 years before retiring. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II.

Preceded in death by two sisters.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
