HUDSON — Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Richards, 88, of 111 Fifth St., Hudson, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Hudson Community Church with Rev. Gerald A. Stevens, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Hudson Cemetery. Mrs. Richards died at Schoitz Memorial Hospital Sunday at 2:30 p.m. of a heart condition.

She was born in Kimball, S.D. on May 6, 1884, the daughter of George and Rachel Freeland Bidwell. The family moved to Black Hawk County when she was four years old. She was married to John D. Richards on March 29, 1904, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Richards was a member of the Hudson Community Church and of the Women's Missionary Union of the church; a member of the Garden Club of Hudson; the Twentieth Century Club; the Sunshine Club, and a 50-year member of Doreas Rebekah Lodge No. 1464 IOOF.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth G. Richards of Hudson; one daughter, Mrs. Kalah Means of Cyrpus, Calif.; one brother, Lester Bidwell of Chicago; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Chaplin of Huntington Park, Calif.; and Mrs. Esther Hoffman of 1001 W. 3rd St., Waterloo; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and two sisters.
