Funeral services for Robert J. Koch, 57, of 2102 E. 4th St., will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rosary services will be at the Oppold Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m. Monday by the Legion of Mary at 3 p.m. Tuesday by the Third Order of St. Francis and at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday by the parish and the Holy Name Society. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Mr. Koch was struck by a car Sunday while walking across East Fourth Street from St. Mary's Catholic Church to his home.

He was born Aug. 4, 1915, in Waterloo, the son of John and Rose Baumgartner Koch. He married Eileen Dugan of Dec. 27, 1941, in Waterloo. Mr. Koch was a graduate of St. Ambrose College in Davenport. One of the first persons from Waterloo to be drafted before Pearl Harbor, he served with the Army transportation corps in the Pacific area during World War II. He rose to the rank of second lieutenant by the time of his discharge.

He was associated with his brothers in the operation of John W. Koch and Sons Plumbing and Heating Co. Mr. Koch was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, the Third Order of St. Francis, an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, five daughters: Mrs. Robert Adams of Kankakee, Ill., Misses Mary and Margaret Koch, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Steve Isley of 2237 E. 4th St. and Miss Ann Koch at home; three sons: Michael of Jesup and Patrick and Robin, both at home; three brothers, Kenneth of 1926 Baltimore, St., Paul of 1050 Southill Drive and Stanley of 150 Crestview Drive; a sister, Mrs. Leo Beierschmitt of Fairbank, and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Those who wish may give memorials to the Columbus High School Memorial Fund in his name.
