Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kearns-Dykeman Chapel for Mrs. Dorothy H. Humphrey, 85, of 221 Hawthorne Ave., who died at Friendship Village at 4 p.m. Sunday of a heart condition. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to the memorial fund of the Hudson Community Church in her name. Rev. Gerald A. Stevens, pastor of the Hudson Community Church will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

She was born in Hudson on Sept. 15, 1887 the daughter of Francis and Lydia Bickley Holmes. She was married to Mark T. Humphrey on June 29, 1916, in Waterloo.

She was graduated from West Waterloo High School in 1905 and attended the University of Northern Iowa and Ohio University. She had resided in Waterloo since 1953 and from 1939 until that time in Hudson.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Frances Ruggles of Cambridge, Mass.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1970, one daughter, Catherine, and by two brothers and two sisters.
